Ethos
Sustainable from the start.
Consciously deciding to choose people, children, animals, nature, and quality of life over profit.
Our commitment.
-
Source all materials locally when possible, from reputable businesses that practice sustainability. This means treating their weavers, dyers and employees with respect + paying fair living wages.
-
Use materials that are 100% free from chemicals or toxins, sustainably produced, fully biodegradable, organic and compostable (except the brass portion of the zipper, remove before composting and reuse ♻️ or repurpose) Including our signature filling of organic buckwheat hulls from South Dakota. The hull is the outside of the buckwheat seed (a super regenerative crop) which would otherwise be waste or used for mulch. It’s been traditionally used for pillow filling in the east dating back over a thousand years and commonly used in countries worldwide still to this day.
-
Zero Waste packaging. No plastic bags inside of plastic bags inside of cardboard with unnecessary tags and excessive printed materials. You will receive your product with no extra tags, either folded and tied nicely with scrap fabric or inside an organic cotton reusable drawstring bag, inside a mailer that is produced sustainably and ethically in Colorado using 100% recycled materials from EcoEnclose. Please re-use your bag, it has an extra row on top to seal it again so that you can re-use it for shipping. (There is a very small info card printed on recycled paper with eco ink included with the MoonWomb)
-
Carbon Neutral Shipping. Every shipment results in a certain amount of carbon being released into the atmosphere. The amount of carbon that each shipment releases are calculated and then carbon offsets are purchased to make the shipment carbon neutral.
-
Using BPA Free, sustainable thermal labels made from recycled, biodegradable materials (no ink)
-
We operate fully in a space that is under 1200 sq.ft. This requires less natural resources and energy, no overproduction.
